Everyone by now has heard the smack-talk coming from the Apple campus about how Adobe’s Flash is a buggy and antiquated technology that Apple refuses to support on its mobile devices. To further “prove” their opinion Apple has launched an HTML5 Showcase…that of course can only be viewed using their Safari browser. So, its actually more of a Safari Showcase using HTML5…or even an iPad + HTML5 Showcase.
As you can see from the screen-shots below, HTML5 is definitely an interesting, plug-in free, alternative but in no way replaces the functionality and features of Flash. HTML5 definitely has its place in the mobile / web ecosystem but not as the ubiquitous standard.
