Wikirage.com: What’s Hot Now On Wikipedia

by Kieran on September 10, 2007

I was reading one of my 500 RSS I subscribe to and came across, wikirage, a really cool website that lists the pages on Wikipedia that are most active in regards to edits per unique editor. Wikirage let’s you view the most active pages by the hour, day or month. At the moment, the MTV Video Music Awards is #1 with 79 unique editors, 141 raw edits, 3 revisions and 1 vandalism, makes sense since the VMA’s were last night. But what I find to be the most interesting is looking deeper into the list and seeing what is getting people thinking. For example, during the past 3 days “Earth” is ranked #27 and has been vandalised 18 times while “George W. Bush” ranked at #54 has been vandalised only 4 times.

For me, Wikirage and other similiar sites are a much more interesting version of Yahoo! Buzz. I mean how many times can I see the same people, places and things on the list! Yeah, I am talking to you Mrs Spears.
